Waiora Scout Camp

 

Waiora Scout Camp is situated in the Silverstream valley, 14 kilometres from Dunedin. The camp is surrounded by 35 hectares of native bush and parklands, and has access to the adjoining Silverpeaks countryside.

The Memorial Training Centre

A large conference hall (the Memorial Training Centre)

With a self-contained kitchen and bunk rooms to accommodate 36 people

Directions to Waiora from Dunedin. To get to Waiora Scout Camp from the Octagon in Dunedin: Go to the upper Octagon and drive up Stuart Street up the hill and over the top to Kaikorai Valley. Be in the right hand lane by the time you get to coming down the other side and go straight ahead into Taieri Road towards the lights and not left along Kaikorai Valley Road. Go through the lights and continue along Taieri Road past what was Wakari Hospital on the left and past Ashburn Hall on the right out into the country. Continue over the hill and down Three Mile Hill Road to the bottom of the hill. Turn right where it is sign posted Scout Camp into Silverstream Valley Road. Travel for 5 kms until you see Waiora Scout camp on the right after the bridge with a ford beside it. You will be there!

Directions to Waiora from the South. Travel along Highway 1 to Mosgiel. Turn left into Mosgiel and drive through the centre of Mosgiel until you come into rural area the other side. You are on Gordon Road. Turn right into Dukes Road - go along the straight and when there is a bend at the end you turn left into Silverstream Valley Road which is signposted Scout Camp. Travel for 5 kms until you see Waiora Scout camp on the right after the bridge with a ford beside it. You will be there!
